Volunteers at YANA

As a charity, volunteers have always been, and will always remain, at the heart of YANA.

Our volunteers are the crucial connection with our rural communities, enabling us to improve mental health in East Anglia, specifically for those involved with agricultural and rural businesses.

Volunteering is a great way to:

  • Support your rural communities
  • Share you skills, ideas and passion
  • Make a positive contribution to improving mental health
  • Gain practical experience
  • Feel part of something

Talk to us about volunteering with YANA by contacting admin@yanahelp.org

There are a range of opportunities when volunteering with us which you can read about below. However you might have skills and ideas that we haven’t covered. If so please get in touch as we would love to hear about these.

YANA Connector

Become the link between your local community and YANA.

As a YANA Connector you are the expert in your local area. You are best placed to identify opportunities for awareness raising and working with local businesses and events. We will support you with knowledge and tools to follow up on the opportunities you identify and connect you with other YANA Connectors in your county or more localised area.

It is your choice how much you get involved but this could involve:

  • Attending events and agriculture shows
  • Talking to your local community
  • Distributing leaflets and information packs
  • General awareness raising
  • Giving talks to local groups
  • Letting YANA know about opportunities and events

We ask for YANA Connectors to sign up for one year and hope that you will feel able to continue a longer volunteering relationship with us beyond the initial year.

Of course, we understand that life sometimes gets in the way of our best laid plans and will always work with you to suit your availability, needs, and circumstances.

Email admin@yanahelp.org to find out more.

Show Volunteer

This role helps to support the Charity Manager with the coordination of shows and events YANA attends. The autumn and winter are focused on liaising with show organisers, whilst the spring and summer are more about logistics. If you enjoy organising and planning, we would love to hear from you. Email admin@yanahelp.org to find out more.
