Three paddling pensioners take on the River Wensum in aid of YANA.

On July 5th, ‘Three Old Men in Boats’ will embark on a kayaking journey along the River Wensum, starting at Sculthorpe Mill on the 5th July and ending at Pulls Ferry in Norwich by 3:30 pm on July 6th.

The adventurous trio

With a combined age of 239 years – Rod Hunt, MBE and John Rampling of the Holt Rotary Club, along with Henry Kilvert, a YANA Trustee – have set themselves the ambitious goal of raising £25,000 for YANA, East Anglia’s local rural mental health charity.

Increasing awareness is vital

By completing this nearly 100-mile combined kayak challenge, the “paddling pensioners” aim to not only secure generous donations, but also raise vital awareness about YANA’s important work supporting mental health in the region’s agricultural and rural business communities.

Rod Hunt commented that YANA – ‘You Are Not Alone’ – speaks volumes for the work done by the charity and the essential support it gives to those rural industries under enormous mental stress.

Donations can be made via the JustGiving page.

Spot them with their kayaking attire and paddles in hand at the Royal Norfolk Show on 26 & 27 June.

3 Dad’s walking and YANA

The 3 dad’s walking took a few minutes out of their time in Norfolk to talk to Henry Kilvert about what he’s doing to help raise awareness.
