How YANA started

The Norfolk farming charity the Clan Trust was ahead of its time in 2008 when it launched YANA (You Are Not Alone). The YANA format – to provide mental health support for the farming and rural community – expanded into Suffolk in 2012 and then to Worcestershire in 2018.

Now we are much-admired by many national bodies, including the Princes Countryside Fund, Public Health England and The Worshipful Company of Farmers.

Next steps for YANA

With the full support of the Clan Trust, YANA moves forward in 2020 to become a charity in its own right, whilst still maintaining our links with the Clan Trust.

Our Patrons are The Lady Dannatt MBE, HM the Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk and Mrs Melinda Raker DL, founder of YANA. The Trustees include Mr Grant Pilcher, Mrs Ginnie Edgecombe, Mr Henry Kilvert (Chair), Mr Matthew Hubbard and Mrs Alex Bartram DL.

YANA trustees meet regularly to plan and to monitor YANA’s work.

In YANA news you can read YANA Chair Henry Kilvert’s vision of our work in 2020.
